I don’t know about you, but I remember going to weddings as a kid and getting so excited for the little favours or take-aways that were handed out at the reception. But wedding favours in the ’80s were, well, tacky (to be nice). My parents had a collection of these weddings favours: a small porcelain bell with the couple’s names on them; hard, tasteless candy wrapped in all sorts of colors of mylar foil; and (my personal favorite) a plastic and paper statue of a bride and groom that was as large as my fist!

I don’t know how many times I’ve gone to a wedding and have been freezing during dinner! To help keep guests warm (and stylish!), give them a shawl.  “Pashmina” shawls make wonderful wedding favours and are actually quite affordable! You can order them in a variety of colors and tie them with a ribbon and gift tag; or you can tie them on the backs of chavari chairs and have them double as decor.
