You’ve chosen your wedding colors, your dress, and your shoes…but have you given any thought to that other accessory? I’m talking about your bouquet!

Your bridal bouquet is a great way to incorporate your wedding colors and also showcase your personality.

Here are some bouquet trends and examples of unique bouquets:

Feathers: Feathers are a great way to add some glamour and color to your bouquet. Popular options are ostrich and peacock feathers.

Making a Statement

One of the more recent wedding trends that I love is the Statement Necklace. Like most trends, Canada has been a little slow on the uptake of this trend in so far as weddings is concerned.

Statement necklaces are a great way to jazz up your wedding dress. It adds color, personality, style and edge to your bridal look. You can also go as traditional or funky as you want!

Project: Share the Love! – Erin’s Story

A little while back on this blog, I created an on-going feature entitled “Project: Share the Love!” and I asked for people to submit their love stories to me.

The idea behind this is that everyone has their own personal love story – whether it be the story of seeing your newborn baby for the first time, or the special bond that you have with a friend or relative, or a romantic story of how you met your significant other. The concept is simple: Love makes us feel good! And when you’re having a bad day, hearing a great love story lifts you up and reminds you that there are great things in the world!

So please sit back and read Erin’s personal Love Story:

“A lot of people are meeting on line now a days… my story is no different… normally I have my facebook account locked up tight as I am a very private person. Apparently one day, it was open for everyone to see!! I didn’t notice, why would I? That night as I went to bed, my cell phone chimed to let me know that there was some activity on my facebook account. It was a friend request. I didn’t recognize the name at all and thought oh well, I’ll just check out the profile tomorrow.

So the next day, I came into work and opened up my Facebook. Normally I would never have accept a friend request from someone I don’t know, however something in me told me that I should accept this one, and so I did. He happened to be online right then and so I messaged him:

- “hi, have we met?”
- “maybe?”
- “no, lol we haven’t met”
- “ok, can we be friends?”
- “sure.”

We ended up talking for the next 3 days ALL day. At the end of the third day, he told me that he would like to meet me in person. In fact, we needed to meet. We decided to meet that Saturday, Nov 13th. He came to my condo and picked me up. We went to Finnegan’s and played pool for a few hours and then went back to my place to watch a movie – he was a PERFECT gentleman. We hugged goodbye and decided that we were going to meet up the next day (Sunday). Monday we hung out again and on the Tuesday, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

We have been inseparable since. He is such a good man, and I have never been treated so well in my life. Love is definitely in the air <3

Planner of the Month

I am so fortunate to have been chosen as “Planner of the Month” by Special Event Rentals for August. As part of the title, I was asked to design a tablescape for display in their Edmonton showroom.

The inspiration for my tablescape came from Indian and Arabian influences as well as rich jewel tones. Since the photos don’t clearly showcase all the iridescence and details, please check it out in person!
