Unique Wedding Favors

I don’t know about you, but I remember going to weddings as a kid and getting so excited for the little favours or take-aways that were handed out at the reception. But wedding favours in the ’80s were, well, tacky (to be nice). My parents had a collection of these weddings favours: a small porcelain bell with the couple’s names on them; hard, tasteless candy wrapped in all sorts of colors of mylar foil; and (my personal favorite) a plastic and paper statue of a bride and groom that was as large as my fist!

Thankfully, wedding favours today are more practical and personal than those of previous years. Take a look at some unique wedding favour ideas that are available:

David's Tea Wedding FavorsIf you’re not familiar with David’s Tea, allow me to introduce you!  They are a Canadian company who carries specialized loose teas…and they have hundreds!  (If there’s a David’s Tea in your city, check it out! You will not be disappointed!) For wedding favours, they offer tins of loose tea or boxes of blooming tea. You can select 1 of 4 flavours of loose tea and you can also choose 1 of 4 label designs.

Printed Tea Guest FavorsIf a tea bag is more your style, check out these personalized tea bag favours. These tightly-sealed packages contain one black tea bag and allow you to personalize the label with your monogram, names and wedding date, or even add a special message of thanks for your guests.

Wedding Coffee Card Guest Favor - Edmonton Wedding PlanningAre you a Starbucks fanatic? (hand up, guilty as charged!) You can order large quantities of Starbucks Cards from their corporate store. Depending on the size of your guest list, this could be a bit pricey as the smallest denomination available is $5. But what coffee fanatic wouldn’t appreciate a free latte?

Sniff Kleenex Wedding Favors

For a favour that’s the epitome of “practical”, how about some wedding tissues?  These pocket-size tissues come in 2 different wedding patterns and are available from Beau Coup.

Rocky Mountain Soap Wedding FavorsAnother Canadian company that’s making their products custom-designed for wedding favours is Rocky Mountain Soap Company. These wonderful handmade soaps are 100% organic and come with a variety of different label designs to choose from. Oh! And did I mention that they smell WONDERFUL?

Shawl Wedding Guest Favors

I don’t know how many times I’ve gone to a wedding and have been freezing during dinner! To help keep guests warm (and stylish!), give them a shawl.  “Pashmina” shawls make wonderful wedding favours and are actually quite affordable! You can order them in a variety of colors and tie them with a ribbon and gift tag; or you can tie them on the backs of chavari chairs and have them double as decor. Check out wholesalers and eBay for lot sizes and prices.

Custom Wedding PhotoboothBy far, I think that most fun wedding favour is a Photo Booth!  Flashworks Photobooth not only provides you with a state-of-the-art photo booth, but they will also create a graphic design for your wedding. The photos are printed while you wait and come in two strips – one to give to the couple, and one for guests to take away. They also offer unlimited pictures, so your guests can use the booth again, and again, and again!
